Kitchen Renovations

Layouts, cabinets, counters, tile, lighting, plumbing and electrical, under one quote and one crew.

Kitchens, step by step

How we run this job.

The same seven steps on every Pross kitchen, from the first measure to the first meal cooked in it.

  1. Quote in writing

Victor comes to your kitchen, measures, and talks through layout, cabinets and counters. The quote is free, it's in writing, and every payment is tied to a milestone.

  2. Permits pulled

Moving a wall, a sink or a circuit takes permits. We apply for every one and book the inspections, so the paperwork is there when you sell.

  3. Asbestos checked If needed

If your house was built before 1990, we test the drywall mud, ceiling texture and old flooring we're about to disturb, before anything gets cut.

  4. Build

The same crew every day. Dust walls up, cabinets set level and scribed to your walls, counters templated once the boxes are in, then tile, lighting and plumbing in order.

  5. Site swept

Every evening, with the floors protected on the way in and the debris leaving with us. You can walk through the house in socks.

  6. Walk-through

We open every drawer and door together, punch list in hand. Anything that isn't right gets fixed before we call it done.

  7. Keys back

Site clean, and a kitchen you can cook in tonight.

What's in the quote

Everything it takes to finish the room.

One quote covers the whole kitchen, so nothing falls between trades and nobody points at somebody else.

  • Layout and design

Where the sink, stove and fridge go, how the island works, and whether a wall should come out.

  • Cabinets and counters

Set level, scribed tight to your walls, with counters templated once the boxes are in.

  • Plumbing, gas and electrical

Licensed trades and permits for every sink, gas line and new circuit.

  • Tile and flooring

Backsplash and floor laid out before the first tile goes down, so the cuts land where they should.

  • Lighting

Pot lights, pendants and under-cabinet strips, planned with the layout instead of after it.

  • Paint, trim and cleanup

Walls and ceiling painted, trim finished, and the room cleaned before you move back in.

Questions

Kitchen questions, answered straight.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

Most kitchens take four to eight weeks once work starts. Moving a wall or waiting on custom cabinets pushes it toward the longer end. The timeline goes in writing before we start, and you hear the same day if something behind a wall changes it.

Do I need a permit?

Not always. Replacing cabinets, counters and finishes in the same layout usually doesn't need a building permit. Moving walls, plumbing, gas or wiring does, and the electrical and plumbing work get their own permits. We check your municipality's rules at the walk-around and pull every permit the job needs.

Can we live at home during the renovation?

Most families do. We put up dust walls, protect the floors on the way in and sweep every evening. We'll also help you set up a temporary kitchen somewhere else in the house.

Can I pick my own cabinets and appliances?

Yes. Tell us at the walk-around and we'll build the quote around what you've chosen. If you haven't decided yet, the quote shows an allowance, so you can see exactly what's included.

What if you find a problem behind a wall?

You hear about it the same day, with the cost and what it does to the timeline, before any extra work goes ahead. No surprise Fridays.
